FCA's 135th Anniversary Celebration
FCA celebrated its 135th Anniversary on the very ground where the original Temporary Home for Children stood on September 13, 2019 in Mineola, N.Y
This celebratory event featured the unfurling of Long Island's largest quilt. This quilt was inspired by "E pluribus unum" or "Out of many, one". Quilts have played an important role in historical events and challenges that our country has faced. They have been used as a resource to aid in everything from communication to fundraising to survival.
FCA’s Safe and Warm Quilt initiative was born from this concept and the idea that from many, come one. The quilt reflects the support and efforts of our partners and supporters and what we can accomplish by unifying forces.
FCA would like to thank all those who came out for the event and for taking the time to learn about the organization's roots along with the Village of Mineola, key Long Islanders and organizations who have supported FCA through the years.
FCA is proud to be focused on the same mission as when it all started in 1884 and looks forward to the next 135 years of helping Long Island's most vulnerable!
